Hello everyone!

The time is near! I am getting my first print sample of the full deck. Earlier this morning, the printer received the files. Currently, they will try to get them shipped this week, but it is a Holiday so that maybe next week.

After receiving the files, I can truly compare and contrast the detail level and colors of each card. A few still need tweaking, but I'm thrilled with the outcome so far.

I will keep you posted as soon as they arrive.

AROUND THE STUDO

There will be an open studio this Saturday at Drawn to Dragons @ Provo Towne Centre in Utah. My Gallery and Studio from 1pm to 6pm. There is also a holiday sale going from Nov 28th - Dec 3rd. If you are in the area come and check it out. 

DRAGONSTEEL NEXUS

Dragonsteel is almost upon us! I'm happy to announce that I will be vending and partnering with Lightweaver again this year with some amazing illustrators to paint live Saturday evening on the main stage. The artists are Donato, Howard Lyon, Dan Dos Santos, Steve Argyle, Kari Christiansen, Carly Milligan, and many more. 

Brandon Sanderson sketched what we will paint on his Halloween stream last month, and I can't wait to get to paint it. You can see that video here, Howard was kind enough to name drop Draco Nouveau in the video. You can skip to the 2nd hour of the video to see the magic. 

You will also be able to find Drawn to Dragons vending in the Breathmarket in exhibitor hall booth B-24.

I'm happy to say that the deck really is almost done. It is taking longer than expected, per usual, as all artistic endeavors that involve Dragons go, but I'm thrilled with the progress. Creativity on a project of this scale that taps into the intuitive world can be tricky and taxing mentally, and I appreciate your patience as I navigate creating the artwork

There have been a few changes with the booklet and its creator, but the card descriptions are now done and going into the first set of revisions.

Originally, Jennie Stevens was going to do card layouts and the booklet; however, Jennie, being the amazing woman that she is, has had to pull back to focus on other things. However, she was able to get three card spreads put together, and they look amazing.

My amazing friend Misha Brackeen is taking over the card descriptions, and our creative flow matches one another very well. Instantly she attuned to the artwork and the vision I was creating with very little input needed to begin writing the descriptions.   

While most cards stick to the Rider-Waite deck, a few have diverged. My creativity is about tapping into certain energy flows while illustrating, and a few cards had their own way they wanted to be portrayed. Dragons can be strong willed even with the Unicorns at their side, and this deck rings true to that. 

As you read for yourself or others, you are welcome to embrace the new or keep to traditions. The goal is to tap into your own intuition, as I did while creating the cards.

This deck has leaned heavily into the feminine energy, specifically the Divine Feminine and its resurgence into modern society.

GEN CON AND DRAGON CON WERE HOT HOT HOT

What a fiery whirlwind of events!

Gen Con and Dragon Con are now over and both shows were incredible. We greatly appreciate your support as we wouldn't be able to do these amazing things without it. 

 

It all feels like a blur but it was a spectacular 6,880 miles and 100 hours of driving back and forth between both events in a short period of time. A monumental achievement for Drawn to Dragons.

 

Long have we sought to vend at both events, and everything lined up perfectly this year. While it did take time away from being able to create, interacting with those who love my work and seeing everyone's excitement for what I create makes it all worth it. 

 

While we are getting back into the swing of things, I wanted to touch base on my Draco Nouveau Tarot. Unfortunately, the deck was stalled as Charles and I have been wrapped up in both cons. 

 

I truly want to make sure this is the best tarot deck possible and that takes my full concentration. Now that our traveling conventions are behind us and only local ones are left, I am good to dive head first back into the deck later this week once our post con tasks are complete. This isn't ideal as it pushes the date back to the end of October, but it is needed to have the art not be rushed.

 

You can find Drawn to Dragons at Fan-X and Dragonsteel Nexus in Salt Lake City later this year. Thankfully, we have attended both shows before and know the drill. They aren't as intensive as Gen Con or Dragon Con.
